Mini Update Sticky Post: July 13th, 2018 I’ve just started to read Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall, inspired by the World Book Club on BBC. In CanLit, I’m in the middle of Michael Onddatje’s Warlight and a book by Karen Dubinsky about Niagara Falls, The Second Greatest Disappointment. Finally, I am braving the wilds and sorrows in Marjorie Rawlings’ The Yearling. And slowly reading through Robert Bringhurst’s A Story as Sharp as a Knife: The Classical Haida Mythtellers and Their World. For fun, I am reading the next in Hugh Howey’s series, Shift, and my next Discworld book, Sourcery. And to keep my short story muscles primed, between Gallant collections, I am reading David Huebert and Madeleine Thien.
Exploring my grandmother’s copies of Mazo de la Roche’s Jalna stories. (I’m in the tenth volume now.)
How about you: what are you reading these days, and what are you looking forward to reading soon?
