Heroine’s Bookshelf Challenge 2011

My original sign-up post is here, but I’ll be updating my progress below, in addition to posting regular responses in all my usual BIP-ish-ness.

Here’s my reading pool (cuz re-reads of the main Heroine Reads are not technically allowed for this challenge) and I plan to read 5 of them.

Undset – The Wreath
Morrison – Beloved
Cisneros- The House on Mango Street
Yezierska – The Bread Givers
Fitch – White Oleander
Colette – Claudine novels
Mitford – The Pursuit of Love
The Portable Dorothy Parker
Wharton – House of Mirth
Larson – Hattie Big Sky

Completed Reads:
Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (1969)
E. Lockhart’s The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks (2008)
Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With the Wind (1936)
Libba Bray’s A Great and Terrible Beauty (2003)

I know I originally planned to read five books for this, but I also wasn’t planning to spend the better part of three months on Gone With the Wind. So, um, yah: I’m good with this.
