Mini Update Sticky Post: May 26, 2026.

If you’re looking to catch up? Check out my reflections on 2025’s reading, and plans for 2026.

My latest addition to my #ShelfofMexico, and Spanish-language writers in general, is Chilean Poet by Alejandro Zambra. And I’ve finally gotten to Edward P. Jones’ The Known World, which I’ve been saving because his backlist is short. Am reading the last of Michel Tremblay’s Mont-Royal novels, in Sheila Fischman’s translation: I love that you get to know the characters from his plays in his fiction. New books by Madeline Cash and Hannah Lillith Assadi are in my stack, next to backlisted titles by Ann-Helen Laestadius and Nnedi Okorafor, next to classics by Maeve Brennan and Juan Emar. One fortunate reader.

2026’s reading is fabulous, so far. But how about you: what are you reading these days, and what are you looking forward to reading soon?
